Is
there any difference between the DVD and the Instant Access version of the
video? The
video itself is exactly the same. In fact, we created the "Instant
Access" online version directly from the DVD. The DVD version will
often include bonuses that are not available in PDF, and therefore not
available with the online version. The video segments in the
Instant Access version are in Flash (.flv) format 320 X 240.
Do
you have a video of my exact printer model?
We show nine common types of HP, Lexmark, and Xerox printers in the video, as examples
of how to locate and replace common maintenance related parts. It
would be nearly impossible to have video tutorials of every type
of printer. One of the primary purposes of the video training is to show
you how to use the service manual so that you can quickly and
easily find and use the step-by-step instructions for your exact
printer models.
Do
you accept orders from outside the United States? Yes,
we have shipped orders to several countries around the world.
However, the video and accompanying material is in the English
language. To get the most out of this training you will need to
speak and read English so that you can understand the video and
service manuals.
Do
you have service manuals for old printers? We
have several hundred printer service manuals on hand, many of them
are for older printers. If we don't have the manual that you are
looking for we may be able to tell you where you can find it.
Please Contact
Us to ask about the service manual that you need to find.
Can
I still get parts for old printers?
In most cases, you can still get parts for old printers.
Please Contact
Us to help
you find the part you need to repair or maintain your printer.
Does
this training prepare me for HP or Lexmark certification?
The My Tech Guru Basic Laser Printer Maintenance &
Repair Training creates a foundation for understanding
printer maintenance and repair. One of the principle factors to
certification is knowing how to read and find information in a
service manual. Finding and extracting the necessary information
from a service manual is the primary goal of the Basic Laser
Printer Maintenance & Repair Training. We will also
provide you with the additional information you need to decide
about certification, and the links to the manufacturer's
certification programs.
I
just received my video training package and cannot find the
certification information. Where is it?
The certification information and a few other pieces of
information have been added
to the email series, which begins when you purchase the training
package. We have found that it is more productive to concentrate
on learning the service manual layout, and working on a printer or
two, initially, than it is to concentrate on things that should be
a few weeks down the road. Concentrate on learning the basics as
your first priority. Please Contact
Us if you have any questions.
Does
the training video teach more than just the basic maintenance
information? The video itself
shows how to find and replace the maintenance components on nine common types of HP,
Lexmark, and Xerox office printers. We show these as examples. The
primary goal of the Basic Laser Printer Maintenance &
Repair Training is to show you how to find the
step-by-step instructions to nearly any printer repair. When you
master the service manual, you will know how to find and use the
step-by-step instructions that will allow you to perform
intermediate and complex repairs on nearly any printer model.
However, since we begin with the basics, you may choose to only
use the basics to help maintain your office printers.
When was the new CompTIA
CDIA+ exam released? The new exam was released in December
2005.
What is the new
CompTIA CDIA+ exam number? 225-030
Will the exam be
offered worldwide? Yes, the exam is offered worldwide.
What are the fees for
the new CDIA+ exam? The price for a CDIA+ exam voucher is
$251.00 but students can purchase vouchers at a discounted price
of $239.00 through My Tech Guru.
Are there any
prerequisites to taking the CDIA+ exam? The new exam is
designed for an individual to pass if they have at least 12-18
months on the job experience in document imaging sales and
installations. No proof or other certifications are required to
take the CDIA+ exam.
How do I register to
take the CompTIA CDIA+ exam?
1. Go to: www.2test.com
2. Search for the testing center in your area.
3. Follow online the online prompts to register online or by
telephone.
4. Tell them where you would like to test and they will schedule
an appointment for you.
How long does it take to
complete a CompTIA self-study course? Each of our self-study courses
are designed to be the equivalent of attending a 40 to 50 hour
training seminar, some a little more and some are less. The CDIA+
self-study course is approximately 4 - 5 hours long but you must
also consider the extra time for review and writing notes.
What is the
percentage I need to pass the exam? You must score at least
77% to pass the exam.
What is the
Certification Duration? Once you are CompTIA certified, you
are certified for life.
If I fail the test,
may I see my answers? As an internationally recognized
professional certification, the test must remain secure at all
times. Thus, no test questions or answers are ever released. In
order to maintain the high quality of the exam, no exceptions are
made.
If I fail the test,
will I have to pay to retake it? Yes, each time you take a
CompTIA exam you will need to pay.
What will I need in
order to take the test? Please arrive at the testing center at
least 15 minutes before the test is scheduled to begin. The
administrator of the testing center can demonstrate how to use the
computer-based testing system before the actual test begins. Two
forms of identification must be presented to the test center
administrator. One form should be a photo ID, such as a valid
driver's license. The other can be a major credit card, or a
passport. Please be aware that both forms of identification must
have a signature. Books, calculators, laptop computers, or other
reference materials are not allowed during the test. Because the
test is computer based, pens, pencils, or paper will not be
needed. It is CompTIA's policy to make reasonable accommodations
for individuals with disabilities.
When do I receive
my certificate and ID? Under normal circumstances you should
receive your certificate and ID in 4-6 weeks.
Who can take the test?
Certification is open to
anyone who wants to take the tests. No specific requirements are
necessary, except payment of the fee.
Test Format:
The certification test is administered on a computer at a
Prometric or VUE authorized testing center, in an easy-to-use
format. The format of the test looks very much like other
multiple-choice examinations you have taken before. The difference
is, this examination is taken on a desktop computer connected into
a testing network, where all the data is stored centrally and
securely. Directions for using the testing software are displayed
on the screen. A tutorial is provided, as well as assistance from
a nearby proctor. On-screen "help" is also available,
including information at the bottom of the screen that lets you
know how to enter your answer, move forward in the test, mark a
question for answering later, or review a previous question. Of
course, the software tells you how to enter the answer, not what
answer to enter.
Usually each question has one correct
response. However, there are some that have multiple correct
responses. When there are multiple correct answers, a message at
the bottom of the screen prompts you to "choose all that
apply." Be sure to read the messages.
After the Test:
As soon as you finish the test, you receive the final
score. You will see the results immediately on the computer
screen. In addition, a hard copy of the score report is provided
at the testing center.
The score report shows whether or not you
passed the certification. You can also see how you did on each
section of the test and on each technology. Please retain this
score report as it contains your unique ID number, which is also
your certification number. It can be used to verify your
certification until your certificate arrives.
If you pass the examination, a certificate
will be mailed to you within a few weeks. If you do not receive
your certificate and information packet within 5 weeks of passing
your exam, please contact CompTIA at 630-268-1818 and ask for the
fulfillment department.
