Certification Exam Prep Training Added To Basic
Laser Printer Training Lineup At My Tech Guru
Dallas based My Tech
Guru adds certification exam prep training to supplement their popular
Basic Laser Printer Repair & Maintenance Training. The new courses are
available online, self paced CD, and instructor-led.
Dallas, Texas -
August 11, 2008 - My Tech Guru announced the launch of three new
printer training courses that help prepare printer technicians for
vendor-neutral CompTIA certification. To accommodate a variety of learning
styles all of the new courses are available in three delivery formats;
online, self paced CD, and instructor-led. This new certification
exam prep training provides the in-depth fundamentals needed for a
newcomer to the document imaging industry, and is highly sufficient for
the industry expert wanting to become certified. A technician that becomes
certified has verified their professional ability relating to
installation and support of network attached [digital] office
equipment. This proof shows employers and clients that the
technician has the knowledge needed to service equipment
correctly. The My Tech Guru exam prep materials are CompTIA
Authorized Quality Curriculum (CAQC), which certifies that the
training content maps to the actual exam. My Tech Guru is
partnered with a CompTIA Learning Alliance (CLA) partner for the
delivery of the exam prep training.
The new exam prep
printer training lineup at My Tech Guru is vendor-neutral, meaning that
the core technologies that are taught apply to any manufacturer.
Manufacturers may make components that look a little different from each
other and they may call those components different names, but the core
functionality is essentially the same. "When you know what makes the
printing equipment do what it does, that knowledge will empower you to
work with nearly any vendor's equipment. This is far more valuable than
being certified with a single vendor. Think about it. Perhaps your company
uses all HP equipment, so you get HP certified. What happens if an
executive decides to switch to Lexmark or Xerox equipment? What
then?" explained Brad Barton, founder and owner
of My Tech Guru. "Do you spend hundreds or thousands more to try to
keep up with the varied equipment that your company deploys? If you are an
independent technician, are you going to turn down work because the
equipment is made by Xerox and you are only certified in Lexmark?"
Vendor-neutral training is the foundation that a technician will need to
succeed in the document imaging industry.
My Tech Guru
offers three training delivery formats "because different people
learn in different ways" says Barton. "Some people learn best in
an instructor-led classroom format, but simply don't quite "grasp
it" when sitting in front of a computer without the instructor
interaction. Others nearly fall asleep in a classroom, but thrive with
online or self paced learning formats." The choice of formats is
selected by the prospective student prior to enrollment, so that he/she
gets the most out of the learning experience by utilizing the learning
format that best fits his/her learning style. When students have finished
these exam prep courses they will have a solid understanding of document
imaging systems: what they are, how they work, why they are needed, and
the terminology involved. They will also understand the basics and
standards of document imaging clearly.
My Tech Guru produced the popular Basic Laser Printer Repair &
Maintenance Training DVD that is designed to give
average users, managers, network engineers and computer
technicians the ability to
diagnose a range of basic printer problems and make the repairs directly,
without the need to call an outsourced printer repair technician. The
basic training Reference Guide provides step-by-step instructions to quickly and
easily find the appropriate information in the printer model's service manual, allowing
the user or technician to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of printer issues.
