Canadian ISD Selects Onsite Basic Laser Printer Repair And Maintenance Training From My Tech Guru

Canadian ISD (Texas) selected onsite laser printer repair and maintenance training provided by Dallas based My Tech Guru, to help educate staff on basic printer troubleshooting, maintenance, and consumable cost reduction.

Dallas, Texas - February 19, 2008 - My Tech Guru announced the successful completion of the Onsite Basic Laser Printer Repair & Maintenance Training conducted at Canadian Independent School District (Texas). Canadian ISD's initial focus was to help empower a few key staff with the skills necessary to handle basic printer maintenance and troubleshooting. Among the staff attending was the elementary school principal, along with other IT and support staff. The onsite training format is designed to give average users the ability to perform basic printer maintenance, understand the settings that help extend the life of consumables, diagnose a range of basic printer problems and make the repairs directly, without the need to call in an outside technician for the vast majority of common printer problems. This helps reduce printer down time, helps maintain a consistent level of document production, and helps reduce fees paid to outside contractors.

Becky Wilson, a member of the IT support staff commented that she "wouldn't have known where the transfer kit, drum kit, fuser kit, and even some cartridges went." After the one-day basic laser printer maintenance and repair training Becky noted that "It helped me to know not to be afraid to do something. It won't be too hard to repair most problems." The onsite training is structured precisely to the exact printing equipment used by the organization and tailored to address the specific printer issues faced by staff on a day to day basis. Canadian ISD's Director of Instructional Technology, Pam Spencer stated "this will help reduce printer repair costs and help staff implement repairs. Every technician should be required to attend."

"Teaching a few key people how to perform basic laser printer maintenance and repair can save an organization thousands of dollars per year" explained Brad Barton, founder and owner of My Tech Guru. "In addition to a few key settings that help conserve toner and consumable life, we show our customers how to save up to 50% on maintenance and repair parts, as well as eliminate the outsourced technician in the majority of instances." As the business environment has become more and more document driven over the years, printer maintenance and repair costs have spiraled out of control, in many cases unchecked by IT staff that are unfamiliar with printing equipment. Many businesses, large and small, are looking for ways to cut these costs without cutting the production of the organization.

My Tech Guru has also produced a DVD training format that is designed to give average users, managers, network engineers and computer technicians the ability to diagnose a range of basic printer problems and make the repairs directly, without the need to call an outsourced printer repair technician. The training Reference Guide provides step-by-step instructions to quickly and easily find the appropriate information in the printer's service manual, allowing the user or technician to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of printer issues.
