Compatible And
Remanufactured Laser Toner Added To Products Available From My Tech Guru
Dallas based My Tech
Guru adds compatible and remanufactured laser toner products to their
printer repair services and popular
Basic Laser Printer Repair & Maintenance Training product line. The new
toner products will ship from four strategically located warehouses, and
are being marketed to compete with office supply superstores.
Dallas, Texas -
February 1, 2009 - My Tech Guru announced the launch of
mytechguru.net, an e-commerce web site geared toward laser printer
supplies, such as laser toner and other printer consumables. Most
of the laser toner products are remanufactured for My Tech Guru by
a certified minority owned factory, enabling My Tech Guru to sell
the toner products as a minority tier one supplier. This single
factory remanufactures nearly 350 different laser toner cartridges
for My Tech Guru and boasts a return rate of less than 1% for
black toner, and less than 2% for color. In addition, My Tech Guru
has entered into dealer and reseller agreements with several other
laser toner manufacturers and suppliers to add hundreds of
additional compatible and OEM toner products to their product
line. My Tech Guru will distribute laser toner products from four
strategically located warehouses across the United States.
Distribution warehouses are located in Dallas, Los Angeles,
Chicago, and Carlisle, PA, which will provide for one to two day
ground delivery to nearly all of the continental United
States.
My Tech
Guru's new web site, mytechguru.net, will act as the new
division's primary point of inventory control and order
management. "We have designed the mytechguru.net web site to
be as user friendly as possible for casual web visitors, while
investing heavily in the back-end tools that will enable us to
supply superior service to high-demand customers" explained Brad Barton, founder and owner
of My Tech Guru. "Our back-end tools allow us to assign account
representatives to customer accounts so that the rep can manage
the account for the customer as well as organize all of the
customer's products into a single, easy to use secure ordering
platform." Customer information and order checkout are
secured with 128 bit SSL encryption to provide reliable, and safe
Internet based ordering. My Tech Guru will not store credit card
data on their servers, requiring customers to enter their card
information each time they order. "Of the evils, I prefer the
extra minute or so that a customer might need to enter their
credit card or P-Card information with each order, rather than
raise our prices to cover the cost to try to prevent the hacking
of our databases. We only touch the credit card or P-Card
information long enough to pass it to the gateway, all 100% SSL
secure, rather than charging more to offer sixty seconds of
convenience. On the other hand, many customers are simply calling
their rep to tell them what they need, and the rep is processing
the order for the customer," Barton commented.
My Tech
Guru anticipates that its primary competitors will be the office
supply superstores. In addition to offering a larger inventory of
laser toner products than the superstores, My Tech Guru has
managed to achieve highly competitive pricing while focusing on
high quality products that are benchmarked against the OEM
products themselves. "We built our service reputation by
providing quality service at a fair price. Obviously, we couldn't
maintain our fortune 500 clients or our small business clients if
we failed to deliver what we promise. We don't just sell toner and
supplies, since 2001 we have been servicing and repairing office
printers across America. We know what cheap, inferior toner can do
to a laser printer. Cheap, inferior products are not worth the
risk of expensive repairs" explained Barton. "These
office supply superstores have no stake in your office printer if
their toner cartridge leaks or explodes, creating a mess or
damaging the printer. They don't have the technical expertise to
know how a toner cartridge should be made or remanufactured. To
them, a toner cartridge is just an office supply item, along with
thousands of others that are supplied by a brand name or the low
bidder. We know printers, and we know how much is riding on a
cartridge's performance. If something does go wrong with one of
our cartridges, we'll make it right. It is just that simple."
My Tech Guru
nudges prospective customers to contact an account representative so that
a quote can be created for all of a customer's printing equipment, and to
order a sample toner cartridge so that they can judge the quality and
price for themselves. There are currently over 1100 products listed on the
mytechguru.net web site, but My Tech Guru claims that there are thousands
more products that will be listed as they are requested by individual
customers. Very few products that are offered are from the OEM,s
themselves, and then usually only if My Tech Guru does not have an
alliance agreement with a compatible factory to make a specific cartridge.
"The original equipment manufacturers have spent an incredible amount
of money on marketing, in an attempt to convince consumers that all
remanufactured or compatible cartridges are the same, and all are inferior
to the OEM's own brand" according to Barton. "Nothing could be
further from the truth. Our cartridges actually out-perform OEM cartridges
statistically. We make a better cartridge and save the consumer a
substantial amount of money. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there
are compatible manufacturers that use the cheapest components available
and create price points so low that the inferior quality should be
obvious. Basically, it is worse to pay too little than it is to pay too
much by buying OEM cartridges because the inferior nature of the product
will create a problem for the consumer sooner or later. Fortunately, we
offer a competitively priced alternative that has a lower defect rate than
the OEM."
